Before I go on a trip to a major city I always Google or check Reddit for cool clothing and shoe stores. However, I assumed that Hawaii would not have a street wear scene. Wow, was I wrong! On the first day of my vacation, I was using the Discovery feature on Instagram. I saw a shop with a full set of the pair of sneakers I had my eye on!
I checked the prices of these shoes on the Goat app to make sure I was getting good value when buying!
Goat is an app that allows you to buy & sell shoes. I’ve made several purchases on Goat and can definitely vouch for them! If you have any interest in shoes you are probably aware of Goat already.
I love buying sneakers in person, but I always check Goat first to make sure I’m not getting ripped off. Truest, the store I visited, charged about the same prices as Goat.
Buying Experience
It was about a twenty minute walk from the hotel to the store. Once I got to the store, I hit the buzzer and was welcomed in.
I was pretty amazed at the collection of rare, more expensive priced shoes the store had to offer. They also had some clothing in the back, but I forgot to grab a picture! I took a few minutes to look around and admire all the shoes. However, I knew what I wanted! The owner went to the back and grabbed the box for me.

I really loved these soccer inspired especially since they were released right before the start of the World Cup in Russia. There was an orange colorway that was available, but I went with the black to be more discreet. I had to get them worn in on Hawaii to be comfortable. The Zoom Fly’s were my main shoes when I went to Italy, only two weeks after my Hawaii vacation. Personally, I am a big fan of the Off-White branding.
I really enjoyed visiting this store because of how successful the owner was able to market his business. Instagram is a really valuable tool for businesses and bloggers if used effective. Most of his business relies on Instagram, a free platform. Truest has over 8k posts and 90k followers (at the time of writing). 8,000 posts is a lot! There is 365 days in a year; even posting 4 times a day would only be 1,460 posts.

Instagram can be a valuable tool for those looking to travel. Travel is one of the biggest categories on Instagram. Before this trip, I have never used Instagram as a travel tool. Now, when I am planning activities for vacation I always check Instagram. Instagram can also be valuable in the booking process. Get inspired by discovering destinations!
Conclusion
Never would I have thought that Hawaii would have such a cool shoe store! If you are ever in Honolulu I would highly recommend a visit to the store if you are into hype shoes or clothes. They have something for everyone, in every price range! Next time I will be sure to check Instagram Discovery to find cool places and stores to visit.
